I was planning this on the way home- a poem words of how sad I feel and how lonely, and how for the first time in my life I am having trouble making friends.
But then I had a bath – I amazes me how a bath cleans out more then my body. My head automatically sees things better. But the matter remains that I think I made a very important decision with out thinking too much, not a bad thing this is one decision I am sure I am not going to be able to put a silver lining on…I chose to give up a person who after a year in this hellhole was actually making me feel normal for the people who do every thing to make me feel like am I a sore thumb…
Oh yes to hell I go…

Some one asked me ‘When was the last time you did something for the first time?’ sad lye I had an answer- I bought flowers online for Namesake’s mom with of course him on the phone giving me his credit card details! Pretty sad I think.
Recommended watch for this week ‘Stranger than fiction’.
Currently reading a book called ‘Curry’
Currently should be working on three stories, deadline tomorrow morning
Currently falling in love with people I have never met and whose sense of design and creativity is driving me insane…
In other news watch this space for, photographs of Peacock (my favorite model cause no one else I know has a bald head).
In other news, work is fun and monthly average of articles is plummeting- and I have no one to blame but my own lazy and uninspired self…

I am in one of those stages of life when everyone around me is getting married engaged or ‘committed’. Though my plans are made, I know what I want and when all the talk makes me nervous. Then you watch a hopelessly romantic movie (
Other than the lonely feeling that engulfs me every now and then…
I guess like Saathiya (my favorite Hindi movie), it was particular scenes that warm the heart. Like the part when they are sitting in front of a fire place after skinny dipping, and ah yes (it must be mentioned), the first kiss in the quarry.
Also saw 300, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and Hotel Rawanda.
Work is good- I interviewed a Limca Book Record holder. He holds the record for the most consistent blogger in

Today I used the word journalist and enjoyed the power that comes with being a ‘patrakar’…
A cop let me go with out fine for out dated insurance because I told him I was a journalist... he even offered me chai and thanda. Which I refused of course!!
Only to go to the opening of a store half an hour later where I was gifted a pair of shades (which I needed desperately), and an ice cream to kick start my day!!
As for the shades and why I was in desperate need of them…
The office I have been told is a black hole and so one after I had left my precious shades lying around I realized that they had disappeared with out a trace. I loved those shades- I had bought them when I used to make money (ze good old days). They were just perfect big enough o be stylish and small enough to not go out of style for a few more years. They did not have the nose support thingy and so I could wear them on my head with out ruining my ‘hair do’.
In other news if you have reached this blog you used to read the old one and I gave you the link to his one!
A much as I loved ‘citizearth’, it had to go cause the boss lady read it and was offended by the nick name ‘Hari Sadu’, and of course to my description of the women’s day special editorial piece. Oh and she has taken offence to me describing my self as a monkey (with ref to some of the earlier work I did with the paper).
In more interesting stuff – I plan to watch ‘Hotel Rawanda’ this weekend no matter what. In addition to which I am hoping to catch ‘Namesake’ (been dying to watch this since the time I heard who was making the movie, actually more so cause I loves the book). Also on the cards is ‘the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy’ and an attempt at finishing ‘The Angrez’.
‘The Angrez’, I must add is an awesome movie simple in its plot and very authentic to its locale. It’s a pity not too many people outside

Okay so the past week of two have been very very very interesting and have left me rather desperate for a time out from the madness that is my chosen line of work.
First it was work on the women’s day special issue… which started with boss women over junk food. I suggested the theme and as it is with ideas that come to you in the moment it was a hit… Hari Sadu (new name for boss woman), ran it by the Mumbai office and they liked it too…
So work began and people were assigned women to interview. I decide to go in the opposite direction… and so while every one was chasing the glam chicks of the city I stuck to my guns, met the criterion, and found my own – every day hero type women.
One of the women I spoke to is the city’s only Atuo driver. I started with the auto stand in the area I had seen her in about 3 months ago. Asked around and about 45 mins later and after driving through some very narrow lanes and I think a red-light area I found my self face to face with Nanda Bai.
It was amazing how our focus group- had such nice advice to give the readers – it was just practical stuff as oppose to high flown crap that ‘guru’ type people give out.
The real mazzzzaaa came when on the day that the pages were to be set our file just disappeared... 21 profiles of women, edited, and with photographs, all just vanished off our network. Hari cried, I went in to bring-it-on mode, it was an adventure for sure… but on the morning of March 8 when the issue came out…we knew it was worth it!! The first page carried a half page lead photo the shoot for which took 8 hours. The only disappointment was the stilted-clichéd editorial piece, very contrary to the rest of the issue.
But what is my life with just one adventure?
On Saturday, a ‘boyfriend’, from when I was 13 contacted me on Orkut, phone number and all!! Super puppy dog excited that I was. I called him. Only to find out that this guy is ‘Psycho’!! I dealt with a borderline stalker for about 3 days before I knew I should not entertain him any more… finally he set his own trap...and fell right in it!!
I know now that I do not like ultimatums.
Movies seen include Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd., Water, Finding Nemo, The Paper, The hand that rocks the cradle and QSQT. All good except for the missable The hand that rocks the cradle
I apologize profusely to my partner-in-crime and the Australopithecus (http://khat-mal.blogspot.com), for not having found the time to watch Hotel Rwanda and The Angrez that they both so lovingly decided to share with me.
In a rare act of generosity I gifted The Peacock- Edward Scissorhands and
The Peacock is starting to be an asset, he listens and his scepticism, is teaching me a lot. Last week in the midst of the madness he took me on trek to see the sunset and while I was giving him is birthday gift we totally missed the sun set, but managed to catch the moon rise… these are the stories that mark the start of long friendships

Last week!!
Started off well enough, I went on a super sexy trek with 3 others. We scrambled (I think thats what it’s called), cause we were defiantly not walking up the 70 degree slope. The beauty of it was the rocks and mud was loose from the dry winter, and of course the trees and shrubs that we could have used to climb up easily were full of thorns. But I love every bit of it. We spotted a pair of eagles building their nest and a bunch of other birds during the four and a half hour trek up and down.
What promised to be good week, ahead turned into a rather huge disaster, as I fine tuned my recipe for a cold. This was followed by strict instructions of the boss woman and oter at work to ‘STAY HOME’. So after two days when I landed up still sniffling and swinging in and out of the fever I had concocted on the second day if my cold. I was greeted by the rude shock that my Auroville trip might be in jeopardy!! Of the three of us that usually proof the pages before they are sent for printing one is calling it quits. This means that I have no choice but to proof pages 3 days a week. Lesser PR and contact building and this implies lesser stories.
You live, you learn
I also caste my first vote on the first of February, very proud and responsible I felt.
Movies
Dear four and a half people who read this blog,
I just finished watching ‘Saw- II’, which of course you have to watch after ‘Saw’ only. This is one of those movies that in a way test you as a movie lover. It begs you to look beyond the gore and see its brilliance. And it is truly brilliant. Allow me to tease…
A crazed cancer patient kidnaps people and puts them in traps, where they have to do something inhuman or even devastating to get out of. The rules are simple, play the game and you are free. I have always enjoyed what my mother calls quirky things (add this to my list), but I am just spell bound by how air tight the plot is. Do your self a favor, watch the movies in order. I am down two and will watch ‘Saw-III’ this week.
If you have seen the movies help me out- why were the photographer (part one) and the business man (who is the first to die in part II)
